The FBI and Carlsbad Police Department are seeking the
public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing
the Silvergate Bank branch located at 5810 El Camino Real in Carlsbad,
California, on Monday, June 17, 2013.
On Monday, June 17, 2013, at approximately 9:52 a.m., the Silvergate Bank branch located at 5810 El Camino Real in Carlsbad, California, was robbed by an unknown male armed with what appeared to be semi-automatic pistol.
At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and ordered everyone to the ground while brandishing a black semi-automatic pistol. The robber ordered two tellers to place money inside a black attaché case he was carrying. After receiving a sum of money, the robber fled the bank and may have driven away in a vehicle parked a short distance away.
Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

- Weight: 175-195 pounds
- Hair: Bald head and beard
- Build: Athletic
- Age: Mid-30s
- Clothing: White long-sleeved dress shirtl dark, striped tie; dark slacks; black glove worn on left hand; dark material covering lower part of his face; and black sneakers. He carried a black, soft-covered case with a shoulder strap
- Weapon: Black semi-automatic pistol
